Começando do Zero

Assim que você obtiver as sementes frescas do cafeeiro, plante-as imediatamente. Cubra-as com solo, regue bem e coloque em um local adequado com temperatura constante em torno de 24 graus Celsius. O substrato nunca deve secar. Cerca de três semanas depois, os primeiros brotos aparecerão na superfície e, após mais cerca de dez dias, as mudas terão duas folhas e serão aproximadamente quatro centímetros de altura. Em seguida, transfira-as para vasos individuais com cerca de dez centímetros de diâmetro. Não se esqueça de fertilizá-las intensivamente com produtos com alto teor de nitrogênio, fósforo e potássio.

Cuidados com o Cultivo

O cafeeiro geralmente prospera muito bem, mas requer cuidados adequados. É sensível a mudanças, não gosta de ser movido e precisa de temperaturas constantes. De fevereiro a outubro, adicione fertilizante para promover um crescimento saudável. Durante o período de dormência, não fertilize. Regue quando perceber que a planta está com as folhas caídas. Nesse caso, coloque-a em um recipiente maior cheio de água e deixe-a embeber por cerca de meia hora para que o substrato se reidrate. A planta geralmente começa a frutificar após 3-4 anos.
